By His Grace:

He Is, Therefore I Am (with Claudia & Naomi)

Welcome to our new monthly (ish) segment of Trust The Process.

We are your hosts, Claudia and Naomi, two friends walking in faith together, who hope to captivate you with our conversation.

In this new segment we'll be praying together; sharing how God is moving in our lives; reflecting on how Jesus has shown us the true path in recent experiences; scripture that has captured us; insights that have humbled us and the raw reality of our faith, as best as we can.

In today's conversation, we followed a seed that been planted in Naomi's mind these last few weeks: what is it that brings people to God and brings people back to Him?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

(Proverbs 3:5-6)

We leaned heavily on this verse and unpicked what it means to embody this in a life following Christ and in an endeavour to constantly turn back to God, our one, true guide.

We were also lead to discuss the difference between self-affirmations versus affirmations-through-God, and the purpose that the latter reveals as opposed to the constant identity-seeking with which the former loads us.

God literally gives us our identity and, through Christ, constantly calls us back to Him. If He is in such incessant pursuit of us, then everything we affirm should be in praise to Him.

This, to me, is true fear of God.

If we can so easily find validation and identity in the outside world, something which exists on a swinging pendulum and leaves us in constant pursuit of personal development, why can we then not utilise that fear and veer it towards the Lord, reminding ourselves that we belong to Him, not the world. In this way, we can gain true confidence and enjoy His creation to its fullest, in its purity, without seeking to extract any level of recognition from it.

Praise God for this heartfelt conversation!

Scripture referenced: Matthew 19:26, Psalm 46.

Love, blessings and light,
